Your Turn
Now it’s your turn to get out there and experiment with using the dSLR in full manual mode. Before shooting, be sure you have the proper settings:
- Manual Mode
- Turn off Auto ISO
- Auto White Balance
- RAW Format
If you’re shooting with a Canon T6i, you can use the Av button on the back to switch between the controls for the aperture and shutter. If you want to access all of the controls, press the Q button and use the touch screen. Challenge yourself to properly meter the scenes and take images that are exposed properly. Furthermore, experiment with bracketing your shot so you can see the difference on the computer later.
When done, import your images into Adobe Lightroom and cull your images to your top 12. Spend some time editing them to make them look good and export a final series of images.
