Finding Image Resources

The following is a list of links I’ve collected over the years for students to gain access to good, high-quality imagery.  It’s important for you to take ownership in the protection of copyright materials.  All of these resources provide materials through different licenses.  As a designer, you need to read and comply with the licenses.

Google Advanced Image Search
You can filter work by usage rights.  It’s up to you to determine if you are compliant with the author’s copyright.

Pixabay
All images are Public Domain, but there may be restrictions regarding people and trademarked images.

Unsplash

Everystockphoto
This search engine pools from difference sources.  Be sure you comply with the license.

Morguefile
Read the license to ensure you are complying with their terms.

Public Domain Review
Collections of art, literature and ideas.

Wikimedia Commons
All images are Public Domain, but there may be restrictions regarding people and trademarked images.

Flickr Creative Commons
Be sure to follow the requirements for the Creative Commons license when using images.

Burst by Shopify
Free to use and modify, you do not need to attribute the author.
